Leave yourself open to ideas for the new research project. Explore possibilities and leads this weekend. We will do a bit more exploring next week and nail down our broad topic ideas mid to late week.

For Tuesday: Read Eric Foner's article "Reconstruction Amendments" in your Humanities packet, pages 74-77. Write a one sentence summary of each paragraph. Write these in  the margin of the article, then compile them all on a separate sheet of paper.

Read the sharecropper's contract:
